Did you know that you can use all kinds of paper to turn your wineglasses into pretty little lights?
Well, you can!
Because I recently found this vintage wrapping paper-book at the local thrift store and immediately fell in love with the patterns. But using it to just wrap presents in it seemed like a bit of a waste. And I remembered thinking that I wanted to do some experiments with lights and thin paper, but never had the right paper for it.
So here’s the fun result: a very inexpensive and fast way to make small (christmas) lights to set your table, using simple wineglasses!
1. Supplies: Paper (I used vintage wrapping paper) | Scissors | Glue | Pen | Free template
2. Trace the free template onto your paper. Cutout the shade shape.
3. Glue the sideline on the inside of the paper and fold the shade.
4. Place the shade onto your wineglass en use a LED light (safety first!) to create a candlelight effect.
You can also use them in front of your window or give them as a hostess gift. I especially loved that they also look cute during the day, they don’t necessarily need to be lid to be pretty.

Thank you!!
Hi there! I really want to try this out, but I can’t figure out how to download the template. Can you please help?
Hi Kate!
If you click on the “free template” link, you will be redirected to photobucket. There you can click on the magnifyingglass-button in the bottom right corner of the template. Once it opens the image, you can right click and save it to your computer.
Please let me know if its still not working!
