Today is the final day of my Upcycling Shirts Tutorials series. This obviously does not mean that I am done with reusing old shirts, but I think that it’s time for some new tutorials and inspiration sources.
So here it is the last in the series:
Take an old plain top (a new one is of course, also fine)
Take one old shirt, I used an old mens shirt from my boyfriend.
1. Cut the shirt into strips like in the picture. (the length depends on the size of your shirt and how much you want to ruffle them. I just cut the strips as long as possible and cut the excess fabric of when I pinned it on he shirt)
2. Sew the edges of the strips, so they don’t raffle anymore.
3. Ruffle the strips with you’re sewing machine with the help of this tutorial.
4. Sew the ruffles to the top.

Lovely :) Wheres your dress from? It’s gorgeous!
Hi Gabi! Thank you for the compliments:)
The dress is from forever21. I bought it about a year and a half ago when I was in New York.
xx
I was wondering the same thing Gabi thanks for asking! Lana, do you think it is still available? Btw the color looks great on you:)
Hi Megan,
I honestly don’t know if it’s still available. I bought last autumn in New York and I don’t really know how long the store keeps an item for sale. We don’t have a Forever 21 in Holland, or else I would check it out for you. If you can’t find it in there (online)store, you can always try ebay?
Good luck on your search, and could you let me know when you find it?
xx Lana
